Hello all, really hope some people can give me quick advice. Been looking for a dual sport in the UK, pretty up to speed on the merits of whats out there. Was pretty set on a CRF250l for all its short comings as a first bike, mostly on road seems ok.
Not sure if people elsewhere in the world know but the WR250r is no longer sold in the UK. However occasionally they do come up for sale second hand. On paper we know it kicks ass over other 250 daul sports. My concern is it too rare in the UK, will I be lumbered with surprise expensive bills on parts and sevicing, having to get parts imported etc. Or are the guts of the machine made up of parts common to other Yamaha's.
aside from ownership, running etc, how would it be as a first bike, I'm 6ft, way over 25yr, have full licence, but really like the idea of a dual sport, for green lanes, trying a bit of off road, and having something I can enjoy.
what is the likely prospect of resale after I have owned it, DRZ etc seem to hold value. What I mean is if I buy for example £3k am I likely to see it only fetch £1.5k in a couple of years as rare, or is it the opposite and these rarely available bikes get snapped up.
Thanks in advance. B
