G'day guys, I've had my 17 WR250R now for just on 6 months am I'm in love, I've spent so much time reading through all the posts and valuable info that the members have compiled, wow what an awesome site.
I've only just done a couple of mods so far, 13 x 48 sprocket new 112 link renthal chain and yesterday I removed the AIS with a homemade block off kit. I have a mega bomb and Q4 arriving tomorrow with a Dobeck Performance EJK 9310207 Gen3 Fuel Injection Controller along with an EXUP servo eliminator, and speedDRD Y1. I wouldn't of know about most of these improvements if it wasn't for this site.

Hi Jerry,

I haven't ridden much only 1400kms since I got the bike in late June 17. I've never had a motor bike licence and only just got it in July (takes 2 full days of training in Australia to even get your learners and another full day to get your opens, about $900 in courses)) I've never been interested in riding on the road in my younger days as I raced motocross.
It was almost 30 years to the day since I rode a motorbike, actually I haven't even ridden one until after I purchased the bike (my wife got a XT250 as see couldn't reach the ground). Now I can't believe what I've missed all these years. We bought the bikes to explore with our campervan. We have ridden through quite a few different terrains here in Queensland and Northern New South Wales including beach runs and some single track stuff and including motorcross parks like Rover Park and Gap Creek Moto both these parks offer something for everyone including track circuits, single trails and pretty hard hill climbs.

That's a pretty cool set up!

I was in the same boat about 6 years ago. After the kids left, my wife told me you should start riding again, within 2 weeks I was back on a bike and riding like crazy.

This year, I figured we'd do something different and ride 2 small bikes rather than one large Adventure bike.

I am indeed a very lucky man.

Here's a vid of the first time I've been on the dirt for 33 years. I've been off road heaps of times since. I haven't tested out the new changes on dirt yet and I can't wait (closest place to ride like this is 1 1/2 hours away) the changes I've made make the bike feel like it wants to take off and the response now is instant power it was worth every cent
it really feels like a different bike.








I still have over 2 years on my warranty but I guess that's gone now  I do have black plastic plugs to seal up the holes if I need.

I don't know what it is but there is something about riding in the dirt.
