Speedometer remove

Hi, I'm interested in replacing my speedometer on a wr250r 2017 and I'd love to get information about the wires that are connected to it, I bought a new one and I'd love it if someone could help me... tanks

The display on the WRR is not a simple speedometer, it's an electronic unit that communicates with the ECU to display Fault Codes, control Diagnostic functions, and troubleshoot potential problems. I'm not even sure the bike will work properly without the display, but even if it can, what will you do if there is an issue with the bike, how are you going to diagnose without the OEM display?

The instruction manual of the unit you bought says that it's compatible with the WRR? The wiring diagram that you linked above does not match the WRR connectors at all, so I don't see how one can account for the extra connections.

Even something as simple as speed is anything but: the WRR speed sensor is not connected to the display but to the ECU, which then transmits the information to the display via its proprietary connection protocol that is not documented even in the service manual. If you want to change the display you will have to reverse-engineer the communication protocol Yamaha uses in order to decode the signals coming from the ECU, something that only a highly motivated vendor would undertake.

Which brings us back to the question I asked earlier: does the vendor indicate that their display is compatible with the WRR? If not, then it's not just figuring out the wires (information that even Yamaha dealers don't have), you have to know how the communication takes place.
