This is kind of a repost from the New Members section, since I know some people never look there.

I recently purchased a lightly modified 2009 WR250R. (AIS gone, FMF exhaust, new taillight/license plate holder, 44 tooth sprocket, and smaller front and rear turn signals) I plan to use my bike for occassional commuting and trail riding and as an alternate transportation source when me and my girlfriend go truck camping. We will double up on the WRR for street-legal sightseeing when camping/traveling. My only planned mods are a Quiet Core, fender rack, handguards, and maybe a programmer.

Anyone here tried a Quiet Core in a FMF aluminum slip-on? Results? A lot quieter? Power loss? Retuning necessary?
Any advice for mods, considering my plans? Anyone else carry a passenger? (Ever on the trail?)

I can only tell you about passenger riding. Last sunday made 320km with my wife (me 74kg, she 78kg) and the experience was nice. Obviusly you feel the lack of power on uphills, but not that bad. I think the worst part is the suspension, while solo riding is awesome, two up and that long travel makes the bike swivel a lot on bumpy roads, and both suffered for that. On good gravel roads or tarmac, is just fine. Also the seat is not soft enough for that matter, when I'm riding alone I go almost all the time standing on the footpegs, while with passenger, going both seated on long rides makes the hard seat a problem.

Thanks Pancho. Glad to hear it was a positive experience.
