Hey all, I have gotten plenty of good info from this site and thought I would pass on a cheap rack !
Got a $12 black cutting board from Target and cut it to size.( the $9 version would have worked without any cutting !)
I got some small 3"inch bolts and made some 2.25" spacers from some pipe I had laying around.
I took a used Cortech bag I had from my previous ride and wrapped the bottom portion of the bag beneath the cutting board. I then put the bolts thru the board and the flap part of the bag.
The bag is now a permanent part of the bike ( meaning it won't get stolen without cutting the whole bottom flap off. )
The bag then wraps around sits on the cutting board and the bottom flap is velcroed ( is that a word? ) on.
THe bungy cords are then wrapped like normal on the bike attaching them to the subframe below.
Unsuspecting thief who removes the bungy cords will be surprised when the whole thing is bolted to the bike.
THis particular bag came with a rain cover for the days when I happen to ride in the rain.
Just passing along a cheap idea.
