My Shinko 244s are on order (should be here Wednesday!) so I am finishing off the last of the Distanzias. They are past the wear bars, but not to the threads, so I'm riding ~ 100 - 150 miles at a time and checking them.
I don't have a real destination, but I've been riding the county roads here in north Mississippi. This is where the X shines -- roads are mix of dirt, gravel (some of it several inches deep), single lane chip seal, broken pavement, and a small amount of good asphalt with a double yellow line. What little good asphalt is almost always dead straight.
Rides are short and sweet so tank range isn't a big issue. Bad pavement means the long travel suspension is preferable to my old ZX-6R (a wonderful bike on average to great pavement). And lightweight is very helpful when the road surface (and traction) change abruptly. Sight lines are extremely limited, so top speed isn't an issue either.
So, a few photos mostly from Yalobusha county:

That looks to be a nice trip.
How far away from Memphis is that?
I may wanna head down there and do some riding.

1 - 2 hours riding depending on if you take I-55 or backroads.
