| Hi all, I am going to install heated grips but before doing so need to ensure I am happy with the stock handlebars. Are most people staying with the stockers or going with an aftermarket bar? Do the stockers bend easily? If so what is the consensus bar of choice? Mark K. | |

| I still have the stockers in the carport, but went with a Renthal aluminum, and put the grippers on those. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| What is it about the stockers that people don't like? Aluminum versus steel? Do the stockers bend easily? Mark K. | |

Mark K. The bend is not high enough. High bend = good for trails. Low bend = better for motocross. | |

| I'm still running the stock bars with risers, so far so good. You might take a look at the Tusk line of bars from Rocky Mtn. Not so expensive so you can afford to experiment a little. Sarah | |

| Thanks to all for the input. I sounds like if I am going to invest in heated grips I should probably put new bars on first. Are the bars pretty easy to swap out? Any need to adjust hose/cable lengths to fit the new bars?
Greer,
Out of curiosity what risers did you go with?

| These: http://pitposse.com/ourabiunbarr.html Used to buy them for much less at Rocky Mtn but they no longer carry them. Very handy; I use the full stack with no cable issues. Sarah | |

| Some aftermarket guards also work better with standard alloy bars. The stock bar is also fairly thin. I used the Dual Star grips and like them. I also put some heat shrink on the left bar to insulate heater from the bar. | |
