| Loss of business for them, I'm assuming. They feel that going with a suspension rebuild will fit the needs better; I've got the Yamalink AND a suspension rebuild and the guy who did mine said it was absolutely fine. As long as the angles aren't so way off it affects the handling of the bike, there isn't a reason to not go that route. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| Typically on Sportbikes lowering them with a link tends to through off the geometry of the bike. But on a dirtbike with the suspension so much softer even on the X model, i don't see it being an issue. | |

I guess if your a short rider you cant go wrong with the yamalink

| The link softens the suspension, you are acting on the same spring with longer lever arm. It softens it throughout the entire travel--it is no different than just installing a softer spring--which then effects dampening. The linkage is variable rate while the spring is single rate, so it has even more effect than if you just swapped a spring. There are also geometry issues as far as front to rear if you do not match the front as well as too much sag. Proper suspension shorteneing maintains geometry, sag, & spring rate. | |

| I dont have the link, even though I am vertically challenged, but I did just get my suspension built by Moto-Pro. I really dont know jack about the geometry and technical reasoning, but I do know the bike rides WAY BETTER now. I will have to trust the pros on this one. With the sag set properly, its just a hair tall but I can deal with that. I may use the stock adjustment later, but have gotten used to the height after 3000 miles. There are other suspension pros like Devol that sell links, so who knows. I say if you get on it a are comfy, and like the way it rides, its good! | |

What modification did moto-pro do to your suspension? How much difference is it now? As of now I'm using the yamalink. And I'm happy with the way she rides and the big plus is, i can reach the ground. I ordered fork and shock springs from them to match my weight plus the ultra max valve kit for the forks. But expected date to arrive my country is still on August . tooooo long

| I got fork springs and a shock spring wound for my weight, the Ultra Max kit installed in the forks, and the shock revalved. This was topped off with their ZR1 fluid. It really rides great now. I am so light, the stock stuff wasnt good for me. this turned it from a bike that I would sometimes have to fight, to a bike thats a pleasure to ride. I noticed on the one outing Ive had, that I seemed to burn less energy, because I was more relaxed and in control. I think youll be happy with the new stuff. | |

Thanks man! Cant wait for the items to arrive and feel the difference myself. What color of shock springs did you get? Got mine in red, hopefully it will look good. Did you put all the moto-pro stickers on your bike? If you could post a picture of your bike it would be nice, i would like to imagine how my bike would look like. Can i ask a big favor? Do you have the instructions for the installation of the fork ultra max valve kit? If you don't mind, can i ask for a copy so i could study it ahead of time. Thanks

| I didnt know you had the choice of color. Mine is black. I did put the decal on the forks, but I wrapped them in black vinyl first. I will post pics for you maybe this weekend. I dont have the instructions because John did the install. I just brought him the forks and shock. He just gave me the specs and what the clickers should be set at for my weight. | |

That's OK. You can ask for a different color but it takes another week. What is your weight if you don't mind? I don't know if John would give me specs and clicker setting for my weight, since will be installing it myself.

Did you re-adjust the clickers from his recommendations?

| I weigh about 140-145 in street cloths. if he built the ultra max kit and had the springs wound to your weight, he will more than likley give you what the setting should be, and the oil levels. I have all that info on a sheet from him. Just call and ask, hes a real nice guy. | |

We exactly have the same weight. OK will wait for the parts to arrive, maybe he will send me specs for my weight and my riding style.

| I highly recommend Moto-Pro. John is a great guy and cares so much about the details he is hard to get on the phone and forget e-mail in Spring especially when everyone is gearing up. I was amazed at the Desert 100 how many Moto-Pro setups were on bikes. | |
