Put the IMS 4.8 gallon tank on her. Lets see. Last time I clhecked milage I got 63 mpg. 4.8 gallons at 63 mpg is.......quite a ways!

I rode it to jerk.
I mean work. :)

i bought a cheap backpack...fits 24 cans, easily.

They finally came in after a real long wait. I was told the fronts were on back order until September, but my tire guy found a source who he can get them in and has stock.

I went for a ride in the mountains west of Boulder. It finally stopped raining and warmed up enough for a pleasant 80 mile ride, mostly on dirt.

They're Pirelli Scorpion Pro's. Can't wait to see what kind of return I get on them.

I found the Scorpion Pros very shaky at high road speeds. Anything over 60-65mph and I got front end shake. What's your top end with these tires?

I put the stock back on the FRONT only and kept the Scorpion Pro on the REAR. It's a nice combo. Can go as fast as I want on pavement and the Scorpion Pro rear will get thru any mud and sand.

What do you guys think of the general idea of a more road oriented tire up front and more dirt oriented rear? Seems to me I've widened the range of my bike.

Been there, done that.

To me, it's as you'd expect:
A compromise.
Just fine if that's gonna' satisfy you.

For me, not enough traction for off-road riding.
For my dual-purpose bikes that get ridden off-road a lot, I swing the other way - full-on motocross knobbies all the time.
I can't rip the street corners like you can with street-biased tires, but well worth it for the off-road action.

Haven't had my WR long enough to try out different tires. But on my KLR the D606 front caused some wobble at highway speed. The MT 21 on front is very stable at highway speed and still has decent knobs for off road. I plan on putting an MT 21 on the front of the WRR and a D606 on the rear. This seems to be a pretty good compromise for decent highway and decent off road without going to a full on off road knobbie.

But....I am not an agressive rider on or off road. So take my input with that in mind.

I haven't had a chance to try my Scorps out yet, but I'll give them a review once I can get some seat time. It's been plain gross out here and I don't really want to test out these thins on wet pavement first time out.

She Wolf, when your up again, I'm very interested to hear your top end with the SP's. 70mph on my SP's was flat out dangerous IMO. 65mph was no picnic.

Installed new grips and new rear brake pads, removed skid plate for my road trip and stole my wifes GPS out of her car and mounted it on my WR. Also fabricated a mount for a power outlet from some scrap aluminum I had laying around.

I rode that thang. :)

Installed my HEL braided SS brake lines yesterday. Holy crap are the brakes firm now!

man why did i not do this sooner! i dont know if it gave me any power, maybee a pinch but it really smoothed everything out!
