But it looks just a wee bit big in the packing for the wee beastie.

I'm still normally a bivvy bag/mini tarp kind of guy for overnighting. Or my trusty 30 year old Early Winters Winterlight tent if I think it might get a bit grim. On the other hand, the further I get into the back side of my 50's, the more appealing the idea of having shelter for moving around, cooking, standing in dryness getting dressed, a chair to sit on, etc becomes.

Everything this tent offers can be accomplished by a 12'x12' ultralight tarp at a fraction the packed size and weight. But it sure as hell isn't freestanding and requires messing around to find the right juxtoposition of trees. Which may simply not exist.

Going to keep my eye on this one.
