New member, New bike, New addiction!

Hey Everyone! New to the WR world. I just brought home yesterday my new pride and joy. My 2008 WR250-R. Still 100% stock. Cant wait to start doing some mods. Been looking at everyones pics of their bikes and they're all pretty impressive. Until then here I am with my new love. I dont even have my helmet or ANY gear from order yet! Oh the torture.

Yeah I joined ADVrider to get help figuring out what dual sport to get. I have been a sportbike owner since I was 20 and had no clue where to start in the dual sport world. Everyone was sooo helpful and cool. Then when I finally belonged to the WR familia I naturally had to move here. Thanks to Jager for pointing me in the right direction!!

Im thinking I will love my WR. Even though the weather is crappy right now, I cant help but go out to the garage and just start 'er up just for fun. Dorky, I know.....

That has "Trouble" written all over it...

Just for shytes and giggles, ride it for a few days with the stock gearing, then try the el cheapo 12 tooth CS sprocket mod. If you like that, consider investing in a 14/49 setup. Thats essentially close to 12/43, and when you really want to get all dirty oriented, a quick switch to a 13 tooth CS will take you a lot deeper.

Will make a lot more diff and be cheaper as a start to performance mods and options than a pipe and programmer, in my opinion, so if was going to start modding for targeted performance, that's where I'd start.

I ride mine bone stock except for protection and armour mods, but I'm more about longer days adventure touring around on various logging and mining roads up here in the mountains, and less about blasting out of corners and doing gnarly single track hill climbs.
