| Did the wire pop off of the fuel pump maybe? Mine did that, and I thought it was a fuse. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

Just checked oll of the wiring on the inside of the tank, around the pump itself and it all looks ok, connections tight. All fuses checked out ok as well.

| Found it. I had taken off the tip over sensor when I was digging into the airbox. Reinstalled, runs like a champ! | |

| I got mine on today. The seat has always been a pain in the neck, but I got it on after some fiddling per my usual technique of mashing and pushing. I couldn't find the two zip ties in the package and panicked because I had just move and most of my garage is packed up but found a couple in my tool kit. Other than that, not too big of a deal.

| IMS kindly & thoughtfully mailed me a couple of zip ties about a week after i got mine in. It's a minor overlook.. I don't fault them for something like that. I'm sure with future shipments they will get everything in. | |

| pic of my natural with white plastics and a lot of red clay. I like the tank, i dont really notice it other than a nasty headshake above 60mph(gps indicated) when its full. I still need to get to the yammi shop and pic up a short vent tube. Yes the seat is a pain in the ass to install with the new tank. I filed out the notch on the pan a little and can barely get the seat bolts in. Picture 004 by Rider_wv, on Flickr | |

| The white plastic with the natural tank looks good Rider! Mine should be here tomorrow! - Rider_WV wrote:
I like the tank, i dont really notice it other than a nasty headshake above 60mph(gps indicated) when its full This past weekend was the first time I was on the highway with new tank and the R wheels. I also noticed that it had some head shake as well that was not there prior to tank installation. Interestingly enough, it does not do it with the X wheels installed. Another issue that I noticed is the fuel sloshing on tight single track. It really upsets the bikes balance side to side. I had a hard time maintaining my line and it took more work to keep it on the trail. But I was able to adjust my riding style and got use to it fairly quickly. I was also worried about the width of the tank. For the most part it was not an issue. I did catch the front left part of the tank on a tree. But that was on a VERY tight section. Although the hit did stop me dead in my tracks, the tank took the hit just fine with no issues other than some scuffing.

i noticed the sloshing in the tight stuff too but after a few miles I got used to it. I think i will raise the forks in the triples in 5mm increments and see if the head shake goes away. It wasnt bad down around half a tank but when it was full it was pretty severe.

| Anybody have pics of a blue one yet? I'm trying to decide on buying one for my X, and would really like to see one installed first. | |

Not sending zip-ties didn't hurt my feelings, just stopped me in my tracks for a minute. My post mentioning that was a heads-up to check for them before starting.

Anyone brave enough to try EvoMX tank foam? Sounds like it is a vast improvement from the Weapon MX Foam that everyone had issues with. Anyone running the Safari tank with foam?

| No head wobble here. Took it up to GPS verified 85 without so much as a stutter. Very happy with the tank. Excellent fit, the black matches really well. No leaks, no imperfections. | |

| Tank foam works. I tried it on my '09 TE310 and it worked great. I just put some in my WRR and it works fine there, also.

| Subject: New tank without fuel line and brass fittings Wed May 18, 2011 12:02 pm | |
| All,
Received my new blue tank yesterday, noticed that the brass fittings were missing from the bottom of the wings and no fuel lines inside tank going down the wings. When you guys received your tanks were the fittings and lines already installed?
Thanks,
Bob | |

| I would say you got a bum box. Mine came yesterday and it had all the brass fittings set up and plumbed to the pump and it was mounted in the tank. My tank was full of plastic shavings too, which took about 30 minutes to clean out. Below is a picture of some of the plastic junk that came out. I blew compressed air in there to clear things out. | Received my white tank today. It was pretty clean inside. I put some gas in and swished it around and got a few blue specs out. The brass fittings and hoses were all mounted in the tank.
I have a bigger problem. I've got the tank mounted as far forward as it will go in the front. The rear holes will not mount up. They are sort of off center, almost as if the mounting plastic is turned.
I also tried mounting the seat. The plastic clip under the seat that is supposed to slip into the frame is just touching it. It will not go under the frame as it should. The mounting holes in the back are 3/8 to 1/2 inch too far back to allow me to mount the seat onto the frame. Not looking good and a bit frustrating. I'll call IMS tomorrow and let you all know what happens. It's not looking good though.

| Agreed, this tank needs work. I feel this is a beta product, and needs to be refined more to make sure the mounting points are correct (they aren't now) and no need to grind any mounting points on the OEM parts. The rear mount for my tank is also twisted too, which I addressed by grinding out some material in the mount to make it fit. The seat will still not fit properly. I have ground out some plastic under the seat to see if I could scoot it forward to allow the holes to line up. Nope, no luck. Damn. So the next step was to put two washers in front of the rear mount where it attaches to the back of the tank, which pushes the tank a bit forward. This helped, but still, the seat doesn't fit right. Next step is to grind out the mounting holes for the seat, but I really hate that idea. This tank SHOULD fit better than this. I can force things to fit, but doing this every time I need to work on the bike is too much. The top mould works, the bottom doesn't work. Let's hope they fix this product sooner rather than never. Rant over. John - yaw wrote:

Thanks,
Bob IMS is sending out the missing parts priority mail. We'll see how the install goes once I have everything......

| I didn't have to grind anything. Just had someone come push the seat forward while I threaded the seat bolts. No other mounting problems. Not a big deal | |
