| When I first got the WRX I thought the seat felt 'firm' but had some give and would likely be OK. Now that I've ridden it a while and it is fully broken in with 8,000km on it I can honestly say the saddle is 'hard as a flipping rock!' Unlike my KLR which is actually too soft so your tail bone gets weighted and hurts, the WR is super firm and causes numbness after half an hour. I suppose for a dirt bike it wouldn't be a problem, but as a dual sport, some highway and distance travel is kind of in the plans. What are people doing for the seat? What options have people found? | |

| Alaskan Leather Sheepskin Buttpad, mine's a dual sport deluxe. Took me through last weekend's 1100 mile round trip, and a 330 mile day trip two weekends ago. I like to stop a lot, but it definitely added a ton of comfort compared to stock and made the ride much more manageable. Also, riding side saddle or standing a lot helps. | |

| One thing nice about the sheepskin is it doesn't add much in the way of height. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| The stepped seat gives the bike a real aggressive look. | |

| I really didn't like my stock R seat when riding over 50 miles. Way too hard. So I had mine rebuilt by Renazco Racing over the winter. Much, much, much better now. No more sore buns. | |

Hmm. I guess I should mention that I'm 6'2" with long limbs. The WR feels short to me. I even tower over my KLR. Good option for smaller folks to consider instead of lowering links though. - Gargoyle wrote:

I saw your thread on that. almost posted the question there, but thought maybe a more general thread may be good too. I was wondering though how does it feel? I kind of like the grippy feel when I'm on the pegs on mine. - skierd wrote:

A lot of people swear by seepskin. How do you hold it on? Is it Natural or artificial? - mtb wrote:

OMG. And we thought there wasn't much left of Dave's bike... | |

| ZED, there are two straps, the front one slides under the horn of the seat, the other has snaps and I run it between the subframe and plastics near where the dirtbagz mount. Its 100% real natural sheepskin. Mines a Deluxe Dual sport, dark natural color.

| I just happened to pick up the very same seat skin from Barb up in Alaska! That thing rocks!! I can't believe I hadn't tried one before! I honestly doubt you'll ever see my WR² without it in place now! | |
