Subject: Safari Tank Question Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:08 am
Hi all
I am in the process of removing my Safari tank for the winter only and sticking back on my original tank. The one query I have is that on the Safari tank near the rear tank mount is a breather pipe(??) that's attached to the tank and goes to the fuel injection unit by the look of it. What do I do with this pipe once I stick the original tank back on?? Do I just block it off??
Cheers

There's a small port on the original tank... down low I think. That goes to the fuel canister.

That's a vacuum hose for the vacuum fuel pump inside the tank. Block it off.

Aha. Silly me, you're not a California bike. California bikes have a port in the bottom of the steel gas tank, goes to evap canister.
