The 2 little rubber boots around clutch cable at the perch

Is there a secret to getting these to fit nice and neat like factory?

The one around the cable goes over the adjuster nut then COMPLETELY inside the outer one around the lever, or just part of the way inside the outer? Then push it around the top and bottom nuts on the perch.

Do I just need to push and pull more and work it on or is there a trick?

I've had this problem with every bike I've owned over the years...

The one on the perch goes in place first. Then pull the one on the cable over the adjuster nut. The one on the perch will be INSIDE the one on the cable.
