Does anyone know if buying a WR250R in the U S can be plated in Canada?
Are there any issues to be had by doing that?

No issues at all. I did this for my WR and previously did it for a Goldwing as well. Lots of steps to the process but they are not complicated. Check out the Registrar of Imported Vehicles site for step by step instructions.
