| More than likely, nobody will know until the 2014 models are announced. The motocross bikes are usually announced in June, and the rest in September or October. | |

| Other than possibly color choices, I can't imagine what they'd change. Nor can I imagine why'd they change anything. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| the Yamaha is way ahead of the game already compared to the other makes, if you think that it came out in 2008 and Honda has just released there crf 250l at the end of last year and the yammy is a much more advanced machine why would they change it? for me I would like to see a 450 version with same service intervals etc, that would be an amazing bike. | |

That 450 would definitely be my next bike.

| I can't imagine they would change anything either.
Only hope for new and improved would be for Kawi to do a klx300 dualsport...even still, to out do the r2, in that price range, will be quite a feet.
I guess suzuki could always remake their drz400...again, price range.

| Wrr/x considered (and are) too expensive for the dualsport category (for its tech and as a fresh design with a brand new engine its worth it) it isnt something that needs major changes for a new model to be born (and yamaha knows that).in my mind the first major change that yamaha soooooomeday will do besides the stickers :-D is maybe new redesigned plastics. | |

| Don't assume a model update would necessarily be an real improvement. If they do "freshen it up", take a close look at the details. Sometimes model updates are just hooey and people prefer the previous years specs. | |

| I took my bike to the local Honda dealers who I know to show them the bike as they had never seen one in the flesh and one of them said can I sit on the bike I said yeah of course, he then said yeah this is the bike that the Honda crf 250l should have been, says it all really. | |

That's cool though. Honda was deliberately going "downmarket" to capture that segment of the market and I think they did it brilliantly. I actually *hope* it steals enough market from the WRR to convince Yamaha it needs to switch to a 450 to compete at its price point.

| The one point i still can't understand is why they "dropped" the WRX version from the USA market ??? Surely they must have had a pretty fair demand for them there hey ? - i mean i wonder what the sales ratio difference was compared to the WRR to make them decide to drop the X. Seems strange as it's really not alot more work at the production line on the already exsiting run. Personally i really hope that this bike stays the same for at least a few more years, as it will end up with an even bigger "cult" following, which is great because it means a bigger & even more expanding production & range of aftermarket goodies, So i'd say keep the 250 as is, but yes i agree a WRR 450 4 valve EFI version would be a very nice option as well....i wonder if they would be able to keep it at least under 140 kg "wet" if it was to be produced. ( Sub 130 kg would be senstational ). Cheers guys. | |

| I really think that a 450 would be almost the perfect bike for me, what things would you guys want on a 450 , for me id like between 40-45 bhp with some more bottom end, also some better mirrors [foldable] maybe some better quality rear suspension and that's it I love the look of the bike anyway. | |

~45hp ~300 lbs Greater distance between seat and pegs. Larger gas tank (3.5-4.5 gallons) Beefier suspension 6 speed with a low crawl gear and a high cruise gear on top. High oil capacity (2.5-3 quart) Keep the reliability and long service intervals. I would buy this bike tomorrow. If Yamaha waits too long I'll be riding a KTM in the future.
