WR250X and WR250R Front Brake Master Cylinder Assembly

Are there any differences in the wr250x and wr250r front brake master cylinder assemblies? I would like to acquire one to complete my supermoto conversion.

Does the wr250x brake master cylinder provide more pressure to push the larger caliper and pistons?

I remember reading an article that states they are different but cant find it anymore and wanted to confirm.

You can look up the part numbers on Service Honda or any number of other parts suppliers and check the numbers.

I'm going by memory here, but I believe the WR-250X master cylinder has a larger-diameter piston because of the larger-diameter WR-250X caliper pistons as compared to the smaller caliper on the WR-250R.

I'm not sure it's for more pressure, but moving more fluid.

I do know that a r master cylinder will work a x caliper just fine. It is neither weak or xtra strong. I use it on an 18" wheel I am running. Berwyn

Yeap I remember reading an article on some website about that.

However, according to boats.net schematic. They use the same master cylinder

WR250X Front Master Cylinder

WR250R Front Master Cylinder

 

Just kidding if you look at part #2 they are different....I was looking at #1 the whole assembly...

The whole assembly part number is different, too, as the WR-250R has a 0 in the 9th digit of the part number while the WR-250X has a 1 in the 9th digit.
