Picked up a 2014 R on Thursday. I order these the Monday before:

Flat Land

The DRC tail light will turn your very bright stock light into a dimly lit pos. It really is a piece of crap unit.

While I would not go as far to call it a crap unit it really was not as bright as the stock unit.

The other thing that would happen is if you were doing any amount of mud it would get covered and basically no one behind you could see it in daytime. Tried fitting additional mudguards under the plate but it only lengthened the amount of time before it got covered.

In the end I put the stock assembly back on and my back and the bike stay cleaner.

As far as potential weight savings for the bike goes I probably would be more effective by going on a diet myself.
