Have a 2105 wr250r and just hit 600 miles. Took it to the dealer today for the first service. They say it's $533, as it it requires 5 hours of labor for valve adjustment, etc. Seems insane and they every maintenance is similar. Doesn't jive with the owner's manual or a Japanese bike generally!

IMO at 600 miles all its needs is a oil change and go over all the bolts you can get at to check if they're tight.

The first valve check is suppose to be at 26000 miles, I'd go to a different dealer, that one is charging you 500 bucks for an oil change and a 1/2 hour tightening bolts. wink

Agreed - thanks! I challenged the dealer today and they stood by the service rep. Will talk to the Manager tomorrow, as something is out of whack. May be taking it to another deaker!

Will do going forward - but I prepaid scheduled at a decent discount (so I thought)! Thanks!

Yeah that dealership is dicking you, we only charge $150+parts (about $40) for the first service. I do advise taking the first service to a dealership as while its a relatively simple service, it is a great chance for the dealership to spot some potential warranty concerns that may pop up from the break-in period.

Thanks for the post - you are right and fortunately the Service Manager realized they were looking at a WRX maintenance schedule not the WRR. So I was only charged $160 even though they did a valve clearance check, etc.!

WRX is the same, the YZ and F model is very different.

That's a lot of money for an oil change!

All the wrr/wrx needs is oil changes and cleaning the air filter for 26000 miles motor wise, that's the whole point of buying this bike IMO.

Some dealers will tell you otherwise cause they want their 160 bucks labour. wink
