WHAT IS THIS THING?

Hello everyone, i just recently purchased this 2011 wr250r and bought a flatland racing skid plate to replace the plastic one the previous owner had on the bike. I took the plastic plate off and theres this thing and i dont know what it is, any help?

Looks like a California model fuel evap canister.

Are there replacement parts for this or a way to relocate it?

Parts can be ordered from a Yamaha motorcycle dealer.
That canister and skid plate look like the stock parts that come on California model bikes.

Search this forum for what others have done to their California WR250Rs.
I'm in CT. and never had to deal with this stuff, but I've learned about it from forums such as this one.
