DRC Light kit

Hi Folks, I just picked up the DRC Edge 2 light kit and I was wondering if the stock flasher would some how work with the kit or if I should go ahead and order the flashers from DRC?

If you want the normal rate of flash, you'll need the modded flasher. I left mine at a fast blink rate.

So, the stock flashers will work with the kit, just the rate of flasher will change? Or if I buy the DRC flashers, the rate of flash will be faster than the stock flashers?

If you leave the stock flasher in and all your signals are LED, you'll get the fast flash rate. Getting the DRC flasher will keep the flash rate normal like stock. If you change just the back signals and not the front, or vice versa, the flash rate will be normal. I found that out when I was changing my 600 over to LED's.

if you are wondering about the BLINKERS then i dont think they will work. I cant remember 100% but i used ones i had laying around from a Triumph speed triple, i wouldnt want to use the stock ones anyways.

I have stock Yamaha flashers/blinkers on the rear of my X and I have the DRC light.

did the lights work with the stock mounts provided in the kit?

i just looked at my stock blinkers and they dont look like they will match up without modification of the mounts.

if you want an easy swap that actually does away with those big fuggly blinkers, just get the aftermarket ones

I can only answer that the stock blinkers work with the DRC Edge Tailight kit.

I did not have to buy anything extra.

And yes...the stock blinkers are a bit "bulbus" and ugly...but remember that my pictures are taken with the camera shoved right up in the taint of the X.

Step back a bit and it doesn't take long to look past them.

It's all about money and where you want to spend it.

One day I'll replace the rear blinkers/flashers. For now....my money is being saved for other "more important" farkles and such.
