whats your vin number

I have a 2008 wr250r vin #57 and a 2008wr250x vin #918.

I am NOT superstitious, but I do have a thing for numbers. I bought my WRR out-of-state and I almost called them to request a certain VIN number. I wear #72 on all my bikes and when I get to the dealer, they had a VIN 7272, when I checked the tag it had my name on it. At that moment I knew it was a sign that the WRR was the EXACT right bike for me

i assume your looking at the last numbers? my 08 X is ..00329

Well kids, sit down and I'll tell you a little story.

I bought a 1986 DT200 brand new, out of the showroom, Oct 23, 1986, at 11:30 AM (I still have the paperwork, which is how I know). On Oct 23, 1988 at 11:30 AM, I had my beloved DT taken away from me forever in an ugly wreck that totaled the bike and left me on my back for 8 months. I had always wanted to replace my beloved DT, but was never able to until I saw the R², which pretty much was as close as I'm gonna get for a DS little screamer, albeit a 4 stroke and not a 2.

On Oct 23, 2008 at 11:30 AM I walked out the door with my R². All this talk about vin numbers had me headed outside to do my part and go get mine. What do I see? 023. Coincidence? You be the judge. I still have the heebie jeebies....

If the last six digits are truly the sequential number of bikes I'm shocked that one made it up here to Canuckistan that soon!

Maybe "The Great White North" is Yamaha's testing ground.

Could be...mine is 023 and it's an 09.

And #67 made it to Montreal (X, 2008, manufactured 02/08).

What's really freaky is when I add all my sprocket teeth up and average the number by bikes and then multiply by Pi I get my age.
