Anybody know the type reference for front head light bulb & wattage? It doesn't appear to be in owners manual..... Anybody upgraded bulb to blue/ultra bright bulbs such as: http://www.osram.com/osram_com/Consumer/Automotive_Lighting/Products/Motorcycle_lamps/index.html
Just wondered if alternative bulbs (same wattage as OEM) give off more/too much heat..... dunno

In the USA, looks a whole lot like a run-of-the-mill H4, 60/55 watt bulb.

I've run a 100/55w with the high beam on in daylight for a year with no concerns.

What do you need your high beam during the day for? Are you really that worried about people seeing you?

Is there such a thing as being TOO visible in traffic?

Is that a rhetorical question? I do anything I can to help ensure I'll be seen. dunno

If it means wearing florescent clothing or reflectors then no. If It's riding around with your high beam on then yes.

Even if it means blinding motorists coming toward you?

Ever seen a WR's high beam in the daylight? It's not that bright, guy.

Perhaps it's just me, but my stock WR light stays on high beam all the time. In two years I've had exactly ONE person flash their lights at me. And my light is slightly high, BTW, because I haven't adjusted it since lowering the back end a bit.

My best guess is that oncoming vehicles are not exactly being blinded by the overwhelming brilliance of the stock bulb on these bikes.

My riding gear is a fluorescent yellow Transitions jacket, with lots of reflective patches on it as does my tank bag. My GL saddlebags are just about as bright a yellow. All of this is the same color the motorcycle cops wear around here while they're running the beam. And I still end up having people left turn me and pull through intersections in front of me.

So when people stop hitting motorcyclists driving the speed limit, with flourescent clothing and reflective patches on, then I'll start worrying about that little bulb in the WR250R.

Again, as far as I'm concerned, when you're on any bike and particularly this little bike, there is no such thing as being TOO visible.
