Oil Filter Part Number Change??? Empty
PostSubject: Oil Filter Part Number Change???   Oil Filter Part Number Change??? EmptyTue Nov 01, 2011 12:02 pm

The other day I went to the local Yamaha dealer and bought an oil filter for my 2010 WR-R. The woman behind the counter took a good while finding the filter pecking away at her computer terminal. The one she sold me has this part number - 5D3-13440-00-00.

So I'm planning to change the oil in the bike today and when I checked the WR-R was not listed on the oil filter box as one of the models it fits.

I just went online to an OEM parts retailer and checked their parts fiche to find that the part number is now 5D3-13440-09-00. Additionally, there is a note stating that "The previous part this replaces is: 5D3-13440-00-00 ELEMENT ASSY, OIL CLEANER"

Does anyone know what the difference between the two oil filters is? Was there an issue with the earlier filter to make them change to the new one or is it just a numbering update for the same filter?

Before I change the oil I'd like to know for sure it's the right one!

Thanks

Its the right one. I've had some that listed the WR on the box and some that didn't, depends how old the filter is. Change that oil thumb
