I have a Flatland skid plate I use when offroading my X (and have the dirt wheels on). I have a trackday coming up next weekend and while prepping the bike I was about to take it off but now I'm wondering if I should leave it on. Anyone have any comments on whether the Flatland skid plate might actually provide some protection on the street / track ? Anyone ever crash on the street with a Flatland plate ?

I'd take it off. No need for it on a track and it'll save you 1/2 lbs.
