knocking noise in the motor

I bought this bike used about month ago. It has 975 miles on it I have discover it’s making a knocking noise down low in the motor. It seem to get worse when I put my new skid plate on. yes It does have oil it. Any suggestion??  2009 wr250x

Can you post a vid of the bike making the noise?

Have you compared it to other wrr/x's?

The motors a little noisy especially with a skid plate bouncing the noise backup at you, it may be normal.

Sounds exactly like the two WR's I am familiar with (mine and a friends).  Our noise level in the cockpit also increased after adding aluminum skid plates.

I'm glad you posted that video, my 2013 WRR with 1099 miles makes that same sound...ride on!
