Reverse modding - OEM connectors for lights Empty
PostSubject: Reverse modding - OEM connectors for lights   Reverse modding - OEM connectors for lights EmptyTue Oct 01, 2013 8:47 am

Hello,

I've been lurking on this forum for the past year and bought a 2008 WR250X last January. Yesterday I got multiple tickets for mods on my bike (tail light, blinkers too close together, mirrors, pipe, etc.) GAHHHH  yeah I know very busy officer...

I have all the original stock pieces from the previous owner and I need to re-install everything. I want to avoid soldering and want to get everything back to stock. Unfortunately the previous owner just cut the wires when changing the lights and threw away the connectors (male and female).

I have the wiring diagram but I need to know what are the connectors for the entire tail assembly and blinkers? Type and where to buy? Worst case pictures would be helpful.

Thanks for your help.

I would just get some posi-lock connectors and call it a day.

http://www.posi-lock.com/

I use to solder my wires together on my mods but many times I would end up cutting the wires to make modifications. I have used the posi-locks for several years and have never had an issue with them.

What god-forsaken hell hole of a state do you live in???????

Does your state require blinkers? Many don't?

What was wrong with tail light?
What was wrong with pipe? What kind of pipe is it?
What was wrong with mirrors?

Quebec/Canada. Worst thing is I wasn't annoying anyone and/or being dangerous, just slowly moving in traffic.

Hold on to your chair: I had a DRC-style tailight, he said my license plate was angled too much in the air. baldy

My pipe is a Big Gun Evo nice sound, can get a bit loud but I'm careful in the neighborhood or near Police.

My mirrors are round mirros below the handlebars. Apparently they need to be 12 inches appart. They were 10 3/4" baldy

He also said my blinkers were too closed together (like the DRC tail light) and aid that I must re-install the stock reflector.

I was very polite the whole time and the Officer was trying to be friendly by saying he's a biker himself and almost got run-over twice during the weekend. Said that we're vulnerable and need to be visible (don't disagree).

Worst part is I got verified twice this summer and Officers never brought these up.

Officers here are basically tax collectors.

That really sucks man... I too have the DRC tail light with 602 flashers and mirrors under the bars. I live in Gatineau (Hull), QC... guess I better watch out for the damn Sûreté du Québec!

Actually the officer does have a valid point... being visible.

I use to have the DRC setup on my WRR but removed it after my COBDR trip since the light would get covered in dirt and mud and then would not be visible in daylight.

But then he could have been a nice guy and just gave you a warning too.
