| In stock form the horn hangs down under the black coolant bottle cover just waiting to get smashed off. I had previousally removed it but shearing time is coming up soon so I put it back on to beep at the sheep (they have trouble going through gates) this time I turned it's bracket up and mounted it under the coolant bottle it just fits if you mount it as far away from the frame as possible. It was a very easy job no new bits needed or longer wires. The black coolant bottle cover still fits but takes about 5sec longer to jiggle on the mounting point under the horn. Pics coming soon. | |

| http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=782383&highlight=horn I posted on this awhile back. some photos are still there but some aren't showing up. It's definitely a cool quick mod to clean things up a little. | |

You can, if you have removed your AIS. I separated the compressor from the rest of the horn, and made a simple bracket from 1" bar aluminum. Don't even need to bend it. Very tidy and it really wakes people up. Let me know if you want a picture.

You said you put a washer between the bracket and mount so the horn dosn't touch the coolant bottle. Mine just bolted straight on without touching the bottle .

| we might have them rigged up a little different but I don't remember exactly what I did. I remember needing that spacer just to keep the horn sounding right. that's cool if you didn't need it. there's probably a little room for some slightly different setups though. | |

| Holy crap that area is clean on your bike! I just did this mod, thanks for the idea. My "under coolant bottle cover" area had twigs in it and was caked with mud! Only thing I had to do was loosen the horm from it's mounting bracket and rotate it a few degrees, then tighten the bracket back to the horn and mount the whole thing upside down. Good mod! | |

| Shewolf, Do you know if the stock horn is a high or a low tone horn? I have a couple of Yammy horns from my FJR that I replaced with louder horns a while back, so adding one will cost me nothing.

| Mine is a high. You should be able to fit a hi and low behind there, but you'll need the space where the AIS crap goes. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| I suppose it doesn't really matter as I have both high & low from the FJR anyway. I may set this up this winter on a rainy weekend. I saw your posted pictures over on TT. Thanks.

| I don't have a clue where I went off track but I had a helluva time with this. I had to bend the mounting arm for the horn to get it far enough aft to allow the vibrating surface to make any noise. I spent hours on this. But it's done now and I'm glad to have it up and outa the of the next rock or tree.
great idea, no matter how I screwed it up.

| I mounted my horn on the headlight bracket right side with the existing allen bolt. It nestles nicely in the headlight shroud cutout and has the added benefit of masking the view of the wiring and the headlight bucket. I had to make a wiring extension, and it's louder on the right than the left. I have another horn to mount on the left; will have to mount so the the brake hose doesn't touch. | |
