2015 WR250R Pricing

First post/new member here. I've owned many bikes over the years, including a DR650, TW200 (my wife still has hers), a couple of small displacement dirt bikes/dual sport bikes and, as of now, a CB500x (which I love and commute on) and my highly modded CRF250L.

The short of it:

I Just got a dealer quote for a new '15 WR250R: $6,789 OTD (plated, taxes, reg, sticker, etc.). Hard to find lightly used WR in these parts for much less than $5,000, and that's before taxes, registration, plate, etc. I know that used is still cheaper, but 2.4% APR for 60 months also makes the investment a little easier on the immediate finances... Decisions decisions.

I hate to say it, but the lack of top end on my CRF250L is pushing me towards the WR (bike I should have bought to begin with); I swear that our little T-Dub pulls harder up top, and my (petite) wife has no problem just about matching speed (true 75 MPH!) down the highway when we ride together. The CRFL performs just fine off road (race tech suspension + a bunch of other mods), but I bought it with the primary intention of turning it into a small displacement ADV bike, and the lack of top end on the road is becoming a huge drag - I'm bouncing it off the rev limiter constantly :(

What say y'all on the price quote?

That's a decent price OTD. If you like the Race Tech stuff on the CRL, you'll love the Go-Race updates on the WR. Changes the nature of the machine. Totally competent off-roader after that mod.

Yeah that's a good price for a new one. Best deal I could find was $7100 OTD when I bought my 2015.

Paid $5,300 otd for a used 2014  with 1,500 miles a month ago,some knucklehead dumped it at speed and there's scratches on every piece of plastic. It would have been $1,000 more without the scrapes.

The financing makes this a sweet deal! Go for it!! I also own a TW200 and enjoy both bikes for two different types of riding.

Took time to think about it over the weekend. Bad call. Bike was sold over the weekend

Local dealer can put me OTD & On the road for $7100. Might go for it. APR is really low (2.99%).

Seems like WRs don't stay on the show rooms around here too long - especially when the price is below MSRP.

That's a good price. I shopped around and got $6,600 otd for a 2015 model and that includes 9% sales tax here in Socal.

On a related note to the OP's new buy, used 250R are hard to come by in my area so when anything not new appears on craigslist it is sold ASAP even if the "blue book" value is less than asking price. Congrats on purchase!

I have been trying to find a 2015 and the dealer here sold them all and sold all of the KTM 350esc-f too. I have wondered about them but I don't like the price or the added maintenance. I read the thread here on that topic and agree the internals of the engine must be more fragile. The 2015 here were 5795.00 but there are add ons to that I am sure but don't know how much. When do the 2016s show up? There are no used bikes to be found in this area but they seem to be selling new so folks must hang on to them.

I went to Eastbay Motorsports in Hayward, CA and the best price they would do on a 2015 WR250R was $7,789 OTD. I walked OTD...with no bike.

I had some dealers saying the best otd prices was $8,000 and found out for $6,600. Funny much the price varies from shop to shop.
This is where I got mine, JC helped me. Only $5,995.00 for taxes, etc.

might be too far, maybe they ship, maybe for right price a road trip is in order!!!

I will send them an email to see if they are looking to do some good business. They are 350 miles from the Bay Area. I estimate the fuel cost to go there and back around $125.

Also don't forget to check out craigslist and cycletrader. The model has hardly changed since 2008 that you can some good deals and something comes with nice upgrades.

What about a 2015 with 2,300 miles for $5,300?
