wr 250r front fender mod

So I'm thinking about doing something to change the look of the front fender as it seems everyone has stuck with the same factory fender on the wr also with my handgards and the flare on the front of the fender it kinda makes the bike look like a moose nose and antlers when you look straight on at it .... so if you have changed the look of your front fender or changed the fender please let me know the info about it and feel free to post some pics.

I bought a 2015 yz450f front fender to put on for a few reasons. 1. I have never seen it done myself where I am. 2. its a lot meaner looking fender. 3. its a little bit bigger for trail riding to help protect the rad and frame from rocks and things flying up.

I think with new hole drilling and the right spacers made as well as some longer bolts I could mount the new fender to the bike. The only down side will be lowering the headlight to mount to the fender leaving the dash exposed when trail riding as it's gonna be dropped about 1 -2 inches to meet the fender.... I'm hopping this turns out looking as good in real life as it does in my head. But I guess time will tell when I get some time after work during the week to go out and tinker with it.

I cut mine down. Just google it.

My 2 cents...

Don't do anything that lowers the fender putting it closer to the tire, it may hit the tire when you bottom out the forks.

If you want a yz450f fender get a different light too so you don't have to use spacers and lower the fender. Theres lots of better looking head lights to pick from and it will change the look of your bike more than the fender will.

The fender will be the same hight as the stock is. The difference is the mount on the lower triple clamp the yz has the mounting bracket on the bottom of the clamp where the wr has the bracket on the top so I only need to put a spacer in to fill the gap from the mount to the bottom of the clamp. plus drill holes for the new mounting points as the wr and the yz brackets are spaced different. the only thing that's really being lowered is the headlight.

well its been some time since I got on here. as I had got called back to work and have been on the go and busy till now with a new skidoo toy to play on in the winter snow but now there has been a lack of snow so I went back to the wr fender project that got put on a back burner. well the prototype is done and here it is a 2015 yz450f front fender on the wr250r
