Reliable: Bike is pretty reliable out of the crate. Just need to protect it to keep it that way. See "trail worthy" below for suggestions.
Trail Worthy:
- Spin your mirrors off and leave them behind or stow them in your backpack etc.
- Tires (just about anything is better than stock Bridgestone.)
- Skid plate. This bike is vulnerable from below without one.
- Hand guards, mostly to protect the handlebar controls during spontaneous Code 30 events.
- Sandman case saver.
- Lower gears, if riding steep and/or narrow. Might need a longer chain too, to accommodate a larger rear sprocket.
- Handlebar risers, especially if you're tall and/or ride standing up.
Inexpensive:
- Ha ha... That was a good one! The mirror tip is free, the bar risers are as cheap as $20, and everything else starts around $100 and goes up.
Just my 2 bits. Enjoy your new ride!
