Subject: Proper fuel pump install on IMS tank? Sun Sep 11, 2016 9:53 pm
I recently added an IMS 4.7G tank to my '16 WR250R. I started smelling gas when I woke up to go riding and found that the tank was leaking at the fuel pump. I pulled the tank and applied a small bead of dielectric grease around the sealing surface. I tightened and loosened the allen bolts cross from each other. Any other ideas or suggestions on preventing future leaks?

Remove the fuel pump assembly and inspect the brass inserts for air bubbles; if you see any sizeable ones, then there is probably nothing you can do to seal it. Contact IMS explaining the situation.
I'm on my second IMS tank because the first one had a big air bubble around one of the brass inserts and was leaking continuously; IMS sent me a new one.

I didn't notice any when I pulled the tank off. Granted, I wasn't looking for them. Let's hope that I don't have to pull it off a third time.

Are you using the IMS supplied o-ring that came with the kit? You cannot use the stock o-ring/seal.....

Yes, I'm the IMS o-ring. I rode work inspected fuel mount. Fortunately, I don't see any leaks. I'll let it sit in the sun all day and gather pressure, then inspect again.
