| by the looks of the 1st link... the website states only 623 units effected in Canada. I called my local dealer and they hadn't heard of it yet. Asked him to look into it and he was going to call me if my Serial # was effected. still haven't heard.. | |

| I took my bike in yesterday to a dealer. They said not every bike uses the same part, so they have to go off the number on the inside of the clutch cover. They order the part, then change part. 3 day turn around. They have to drain the oil, so we get a free oil change out of it too! | |

| I stopped by my Yami. dealer today to see what they had to say about this recall. I was able to read the 5 page service bulletin Yamaha sends to its dealers. It says a kit is available from Yamaha with the necessary parts, a gasket and seal, it looks like all WR250R's use the same kit. It also says no need to drain the oil, and the work takes about an hour. My dealer has ordered this kit and will call when it's in, they say more like 1.5 hrs. to do the work. There is a great post on this site detailing the seal change.

| Got our recall last week. Taking it in Saturday. Our dealer was supposed to get the recall kits Tuesday. They said we should have it back within 2 hours. |

| Just a little heads up on the recall. My bike was manufactured in 8/13 (its a 2014) and per the Yamaha representative my bike was not one of the WR's affected. So apparently its not all 2014's-2016's manufactured within the specified date ranges. Just call your local authorized yamaha dealer and give them the VIN or call Yamaha at 1-800-962-7926 and ask them. | |

| Went in to my dealer today and they verified the recall and ordered my kit. Gotta pull the clutch cover and pressure plate etc. The instructions inform the dealer that oil does not need to be drained if you have the bike on the side stand as an FYI..... | |

| Had ours performed today. Had them change the oil and filter since the cover was off. The recall kit has two parts in it, the seal and the clutch cover gasket. They don't have to change oil according to the recall. Takes about an hour according to the notice. Picked up the bike a couple hours later after running errands. |
