| Hey I put 21,000 miles on my 1st 2008 WR250R that I bought in 2014, and just bought another 2008 with 700 miles . I'm swapping parts over to the newer bike. I've done all the emissions mods to the old bike. I want to take off the FMF pipe and programmer and put the stock pipe back on the old bike. Will that work as long as I leave the EXUP servo eliminator on the old bike? To ask in a different way, what will it take to get the bike to run with the stock pipe again, without the FMF programmer? Is that possible? I removed the AIS, the exhaust cable butterfly crap, etc. Do I have to leave in the EXUP servo eliminator plug and that will do it? Thanks in advance! Steve | |

| You will pretty much just have to hook the servo/cables back up to the EXUP and go ride. That or find a way to remove the exup valve from inside the exhaust. You won't need to worry about a programmer or anything else, the bike will fine because the stock exhaust has enough restriction from the Catylitic converter, etc. | |

| Do you still have the spring and pully assembly on the exup? The spring assembly holds it open, if its there you can bolt it on and ride. I recently put my stock muffler back on, the fmf's noise was bugging me on the road. I ditched the servo cables and left the servo plugged in instead of buying the servo eliminator, I also ditched the AIS, I didn't hook either back up. I lost the spring assembly off my stock pipe some how in the last 4 years its been in the corner of the garage. I ended up welding a nut to the nipple on the pipe then a smaller one on top of it and to the exup to hold it open. With nothing on the exup it rattled and opened and close on its own. You can tell which way is open or closed, the bikes quieter with it closed and if you clamp it there with vise grips and try to ride the bike bogs out if you give it more than 1/4 throttle. If you leave it open all the time the bike runs fine, with any luck you still have a spring on yours so you don't have to weld it open. | |

Thanks CRFan! I really appreciate it. One other question. On the bike I just bought, the low fuel light stays on even after filling up. The bike only has 720 miles on it but did a lot of sitting. Has anyone ever heard of this happening on other WRR's? Thanks

The new bike has the stock servo cables and parts in tact so I'll swap everything to the old bike. I love these bikes! Cant wait to get the fresh one all dialed. The old one runs great still at 21,,500. So reliable!! Versatile!! I run a pair of 03 YZ forks on my WRR and this time around going to revalve the shock to eliminate the Yamahop. I also own Some YZ 2 smokers. 125 and 250, bur nothing like heading out on an adventure out of the driveway for the day or multiple days!!

Has anyone ever heard of this happening on other WRR's? Thanks Might have to replace the fuel level sensor...maybe it got corroded form the bike sitting, etc. Pull the pump assembly out and check it....

If your revalving the shock your self check out this vid. https://youtu.be/k8VomeL0FZo?list=PLRY6kV-n64ohqtqcHMpheRFdQYVwmmEnN I had to add a extra rebound shim to my race tech gold valve kit too as it was way better than stock but not quite dialed. I have a 06 yz250 too, its a good combo, I do scramble races and play in pits with the yz and do longer easier rides with the wr250r.

| Thanks again Biglake.
Yes, YZ smoker and WRR is a good stable combo.
I heard about a company in Minnesota called Checkpoint that does WRR revalves mich cheaper then GoRace. Anybody have any info?
Got the old bike running with the stock pipe but something very weird going on.
I swapped the pipe, programmer and light weight battery. Now the low fuel light is coming on on the old bike and the new bike doesn't have the low fuel light on. So by swapping those parts, the problem with the low fuel light moved over with the parts. Crazy!! any thoughts?

Thanks for the response. Recap. I've had an 08 now with 21,600 miles with a FMF pipe, programmer and light battery. Never a problem with the low fuel light. Bought an 08 bone stock with 718 miles. Low fuel light stayed on even with a full tank. I swapped all the parts mentioned above from the old wr to the new one. Now the low fuel light stays on on my original bike and the problem is gone on the new bike. Makes no sense to me! Selling the old bike. Not a major problem. it still runs great. Just weird!

| Check the connector under the gastank. Its probably works just like with brakeswitches, so when unplugged, it will trigger the light all the time | |

I just realized that the light that was coming on is the check engine light. Not the low fuel light. Brain fart! So now I'm wondering if I need to plug the except Eliminator back in to see if that gets rid of the light. My check engine light came on after putting the stock exhaust back on. I did plug everything back in and the cables are all intact. Open to suggestions. Thanks
