taller seat?

i am considering going to a taller harder seat. anyone know of foam made for the wrx/r? i need to get further up on the tank, as well as have more cushion for my fat a55.... anyone have one or know of a source? thanks.

Did James use 2" taller but softer foam with a wider “butt” print (when looking from the top)? I can see he flattened out the angle leading towards the tank and then decreasing the rise back up to the tank on yours as well. It appears that way from the side profile?

Lastly, what has been the longest distance ride with your seat and has it met your expectations? James is currently backed up until September if you can believe that so the wait should be well worth it for my own 200 + pounds!

Chris at Renazco built mine. We decided to do 2 inches in the front and taper it back to 1.5" in the rear. This gave it the flattest riding platform. As far as the foam goes, I don't think they offer different densities. I could be wrong, but I wasn't given that option. It is slightly wider in the rear but not like a Mayer or Russell by any means. In fact, I wanted to make sure it didn't get "wings" because I move all over it when riding. The longest ride I've done on it is about 400 miles. The seat is far superior to the stock seat. I'm not going to say I don't get any discomfort on long rides, but it is great and I see why Renazco seats are so popular with the off road and dual sport crowds. The suede top is great. It does a great job with decreasing the onset of monkey butt. I ordered mine in August and got in December. It's a long wait, but it was definitely worth it. Good luck with your decision!

Hey Ashville - nice seat and bags. I was just down your way two weekends ago and really enjoyed myself. The little 250 made the ride down 23 from Columubs, OH to Franklin, NC. I rode with BMW 650s and 800s and I had no real issues. Highway speeds were a bit fun, but I could walk away from them in the twisties even though I had half to a third the HP.

Would you be able to give me a dimension off of your Tail Peak bag please? How far are the webbing straps off the front and back of the bag? How far are they from one another?

Just got my tall seat from Rick Mayer. Raised it about 2.5 inches. The seat feels great and the increase in footpeg to seat height is exactly what I wanted. I'm 6'3".
