| Sitting at 42,495 miles... Tire wear? What tire wear? Front 110/70-17 Continental Conti-Motion sport touring tire with ~9,000 miles: Rear 150/70-17 Heidenau K76 with ~4,000 miles: In hindsight I should probably have gotten a 130/80-17 rear, but so far so good. Both tires have been absolutely abused since they were installed and have done nothing but perform excellently on all terrain. I still wish I could actually get heat and good dry grip out of the rear, but for the wear I can't really complain since thats what I wanted (iron like wear over ultimate grip) when I bought it. | |

Purchased from Dennis Kirk

| I'm looking at new tires now for my WRX. I'm currently on the stock BT090's. Mileage is at 7200 km's (almost 4500 miles). Rear tire is the one that's going (normal). Lately we've been doing some offroading (trails) and I've had a bunch of fun doing them with my stock tires. Obviously, this has not helped with the tire life...I'm surprised how good the stock tires have been offroad though. I'm looking at either Distanzia's or BT003RS' for the replacements, but I'm not sure which way to go since I might get a set of Dunlop D606's on 21/18's for the offroad days. If I get the WRR sized wheels/tires for offroading, I'd get the BT003RS' for the street. If I stick to one wheelset, I would probably go with the Distanzia's for their "universal" ability... I have a question regarding the Distanzia's: Is the heavier weight noticeable or negligible (while riding) on our little 250's ? | |

| Hello, much valuable information on this forum! I went out on a limb and bought Michelin Pilot Road 4's 150/70 and 120/70. Sized up because it is so hard to find tires (aware of possible chain rub.) Has anyone tried these tires on this bike yet? Or, any luck with the PR3's of the same size? thank you. I will post pics if everything fits well. | |

Since no one else answered my question, I'll answer it myself. YES !!!! The extra weight is very noticeable. Turn in is much slower and the bike generally feels less nimble.

Everything is relative. Do the Distanzias "feel" different than straight-up sportbike tires? Yes. Now ask about straight-up sportbike tires on surfaces that are not asphalt. I found the Distanzias to be pretty sensitive to psi. Play a little with how much pressure you're running and I'll bet you find a "sweet spot" for your tastes. I thought I'd made a horrible mistake when I first rode on the Distanzia tires. Then I discovered the guys at Cycle Gear had inflated them to about 40 psi. Maybe they had forgot to let some air out after seating the beads. At any rate - after monkeying around with the psi I found a pressure that felt great for me. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| I didn't mean that they were bad, just that they DO feel different compared to the stock tires / stock sizes. While I haven't done much riding lately due to the cold & rainy fall weather, I have done a few commutes to and from work, which is a 15min. ride each way. Although they feel VERY different compared to the stock tires, I'm starting to like them. Like you, at first I thought I had made a mistake going with these Distanzia's, even though mine were not over-inflated. The WRX is nowhere near as nimble/nervous with the Distanzia's due to the heavier tire weight, but I'm getting used to them and they are starting to feel good. Maybe I'm just getting used to the new setup. I can't wait for next summer to see what they can do offroad. I'm obviously not expecting knobby-like traction, but they should be better than the stockers. Zero rubbing issues so far. Above token crappy cell phone photos were from when I got them, before the leaves dropped. Speaking of which, I am pleasantly surprised how well they grip/corner on wet leaves. Running 28 psi. front & rear. Next season I'll experiment with lower pressures. | |

| Stock Bridgestone running in at 3200 miles as to be expected. bought bike at 2100, previous owner left some nice chicken strips. Anyway, I got Michelin pr4's. Amazon sent me a trail rear an I'm still waiting on the front from revzilla (should be standard.) will this front/rear setup be okay? Has anyone rode a Michelin PR3 or similar in a 150/70? Finally, would it be okay to leave my old front tire on for a few days until the new one arrives? Sorry for all the questions. | |

| Almost burned through the Battlax BT016 set on my WRx in about 4k miles. Also I picked up a nail in the rear on my way home from work a few weeks ago. So I am looking at new tire options. I was going back and forth between the Pirelli Rosso II last time when I got the Bridestones, and they are still available. But then I found the Shinko 006. They seem to get decent reviews from the Ninja 250 crowd, but not a whole lot out there on these. They are a good price ($180 for the pair). Anybody tried them?
Still debating that or the Bridgestone 003, which is like $220 a set. I am worried about life expectancy on the 003.

| Been a LONG time since I've added to this thread! Long cold winters make for short ridng seasons, plus hard tires, means I havent changed tires since... 2012!!!! Off comes the ContiMotion front with 10427 miles on it with about 1-2/32" remaining and the Heidenau k76 rear with 5435 miles and 2-3/32" left. I'll keep the conti for ice racing, fill it full of screws and find a cheap rear that's worn out. On goes a Shinko 244 3.0x17 front and a 120/90-17 Pirelli MT21! Trails better watch out this summer! Mileage is 44029. | |

| Partly becaus I found one for cheap, partly because I wanted to keep it motard-ish, partly because I was concerned about the 4.6 rubbing on the forks legs. Next time I'll do a 4.60. | |

I was thinking the 3.0 looked more dirt bikeish than motard-ish. Do you think the 3.0 would handle dirt better than the 4.6? I guess b/c dirtbikes have less wide tires that maybe that would be preferred over the wide looking 4.6. I plan on doing mostly dirt trail riding than being on the street 90/10.

Bring on the heat baby !!!! It's 98 degrees right now. I don't mind low 90s but this is redic. Especially when you're ATGATT. |

And yes, ATGATT. Heat doesn't seem to bother me. I guess not...I didn't think it got that hot in Canada. So it cooled down to 93 and I went for a spin...tires feel good. Previous owner had a 150/70-17 on the back so turn in felt better. But I went back to OEM size in the rear and it seems fine. Just took it easy scrubbing them in. One thing to note about Pirelli...my front tire is made in China, the rear is made in Germany. |
