Does anyone have a pair of the "shorty" style MX boots? What are your thoughts? Would you recommend them? Thinking of possibly getting these:

For only 89.00 bucks new seems like a good deal to me. I ride 98% street but like the look of these compared to more of a "street" boot.

I had a pair of Thor 50/50 boots for about a year, they were great. Sold them because I used them less than my Tourmaster solution touring boots, but on warm days particularly I wish I still had them. Wouldn't do any trail riding with them though, too short.

Did the Thor's have good "feel" to them. In other words, could you feel the brake and shift levers or did they take getting used to? I would guess that the Fly's i posted wouldnt have very good feel as they're basically just a shorter MX boot. Thanks for the response as well!

I have a pair of Alpinestar Tech 2 and love them. I have probley 20000 miles on them both on and off road. The only down fall is they are not waterproof. My son has the Thor 50/50s but they havent held up as well. He is hard on boots but he is on his 4th pair to my one. I would like to try the Fox shortys when the time comes.

So i found a shop that had the boots i posted above and tried them on. I quickly remembered why i always hated wearing my MX boots back in my dirtbike riding days. I went to 4the diff shops and then found these on clearance at Cyclegear for 60% off! Haven't riden with them yet but just walking around in them they are darn comfortable! !! Sidi Caynon Goretex for 119.00.

Sorry I know this post is a year old but it is what I'm after. I like the Maverics but can anyone tell me they are diff from my Mx boots? I have new Alpinestars and HATE them. I can barely walk, cant shift, cant brake without lifting my whole foot. I want something I can bend my ankles in but have some protection. Would rather wear some leather work boots than these $200 ankle cast I bought. Can someone suggest a good cheap boot for me. I ride offroad but not Jumping, or track riding.

I have an exact pair of those Mavericks in the MX (higher version) style. I've only worn them a few times and they are in great shape yet. I'll sell them to you for a steal. I wear a size 9 1/2 - 10 sneaker and these fit great.
