what kind of helmet do you use?

First off what kind of helmet do you use? what climate do u live in? what kind of riding do u use ur X/R for?

going to sneak a question in: i live in south fla, sunny 360/365 almost and i was wondering what helmet would you experienced guys recommend? mind you, new to enduros. Im leaning toward a standard off road helmet with separate goggles, or an "enduro" helmet like this one: http://images.motorcycle-superstore.com/ProductImages/OG/2011-Fly-Racing-Trekker-DS-Helmet.jpg (if that is even considered an "enduro" helmet). My riding will be mostly(time wise) road to and from school, and probably 25-40% off road. i only want 1 helmet because of budget, if i had infinite money this wud me a moot topic lol

This is what I wear on the road. It is warm in the summer but I live in orchard land and got tired of eating bugs

The MC-1 is my dirt helmet worn with goggles.

On the road I like the coverage of the full face because of all the gravel rubber dirt and just other stuff that flies off the cars around you. My preference would be MX with goggles because it is the coolest in the heat and I feel I can see better out the sides. My $0.02

I use arai xd3, my only complaint is the shorter strap with the buckles is short and a pain sometimes

I tried wearing my dirtbike helmet, but when riding on the road at hi-way speeds, it was just to hard to control and caught to much wind.
Also where I ride the bugs are out of control and was tired of them getting in my helmet!
I bought a Scorpion EXO-500.
It has a built in tinted shield, which I really like.

Fly Trekker dual sport helmet. I ride 90% on road and it catches much less wind than people assume it will. It's a nice helmet for the money.

I live in SW Pa and ride in temps from 20-100 degrees. We get a lot of variance in temps in Pa and I ride as long as the roads aren't covered in snow or ice.

Me too. Not as cushy as my TLD dirt lid but not messing with goggles is great. Sank a plastic bolt about an inch forward on top to get the visor down to a usable level. Much better.

I never considered that. I usually just grab the mouth piece and pull the helmet down if I am riding into the sun LOL.

Just got this AFX and it's just like The Fly Trekker. The best thing about the dualsport design
is versatility. You can wear goggles with the shield also. I was using a HJC MX style with
googles before I got the AFX. Now I just wear my prescript glasses and the shield takes
care of the elements. You can just crack it open a little bit and get some better air flow.
The vents work great also. I got the AFX in solid silver.
