| I believe, the black frame is for X's, and the silver frame is for R's.
They stopped bringing X's into the USofA after 2011.
I think that's the way it works. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| So, please go to a Yamaha website and find page with an "R" model that has a black frame. Please post link to that. Granted - I only looked at the Yamaha-USA pages. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| Slim might be from outside the USA, as I recall seeing pics of WR-250Rs in other countries with black frames.

Hi all, e.g. here in Europe are both WR250X and WR250R (and all model years) with black frames...

| Those crazy Europeans.... Black fork tubes. X only. Maybe. Never can tell what those Europeans might do next. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

And for sure - I thing too that silver (native) frame is generally better because of resistance against abrasion.

| I must say... my big apology for my bad English...
I have only two semesters of the English language, more than 30 years ago. And in the first semester we discussed mainly about actual death (assassination) of John Lennon - unfortunately in our native language and not in English.

| Lot's of options and colours worldwide but limited choice locally. Canada follows the US in choice, only has higher pricing - Dovi wrote:

Nothing wrong with your English What do you mean John Lennon is dead? What? Middle Europe? What country?

| Been there, before and after the Iron Curtain thing. Amazing difference. Prague is young and hip nowadays, not so much in the Czechoslovakia days. Lots of history there, too much if you ask me. | |

| Same machine from 2008 to present. That's how it is for USA models, anyway. | |

That's how it is for USA models, anyway. Don't forget, some 2008 models had issues with bad fuel pumps, and the 2008 models had shitty gaskets on the sprockets that the other models did not. (at least in the North American models... ) _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

Rick Ramsey writes on his pages http://www.rickramsey.net/WR250Rmods.htm about these changes: WR250R changes from '08 to '09There are 27 parts changes from '08 to '09; two are cosmetic (decals), one is an informational decal, and the other 24 are mechanical. The changes are minor; the left crankshaft bearing and valve lifter are the only engine mods. See here: http://www.rickramsey.net/WR250R0809.htm WR250R changes from '09 to '10There are 31 parts changes from '09 to '10; 4 are cosmetic (decals), 4 are informational decals, and the other 23 are mechanical. The changes are minor; the cam chain tensioner assembly and the counter balancer bearing are the only significant engine mods. Notable unchanged parts are the fuel pump (same as '08), transmission/clutch (same as '08), and almost all of the engine (same as '08). See here: http://www.rickramsey.net/WR250R0910.htm WR250R changes from '10 to '11There are 30 parts changes from '10 to '11; 4 are cosmetic (decals) and the other 26 are mechanical/electrical. The changes are minor; the crank pin is the only significant engine mod. Notable unchanged parts are the transmission/clutch (same as '08) and almost all of the engine (same as '08). See here: http://www.rickramsey.net/WR250R1011.htm WR250R changes from '11 to '12There are 134 parts changes from '11 to '12: 4 are cosmetic (decals), 112 are mechanical/electrical, and 18 are in the engine/tranny. In my opinion, the changes are minor, but check the list to see for yourself. This year, many of the changes seem very minor such as these (count of occurrences is shown in either '11 or '12 part description): BAND 10, BOLT 34, CLAMP 11, COLLAR 6, NUT 8, SCREW 24, WASHER 7 I have not tried to determine the effects or extent of these and other minor changes. For some parts, I have added a note where I think I know what's going on with the change. See here: http://www.rickramsey.net/WR250R1112.htm General (common) remark: A part is assumed to be changed if the part number for '12 is changed from the '11 part number. However, a part number can be unchanged, but the part is actually changed. Case in point - the fuel pump assembly. Replacement fuel pump assemblies have the same assembly part number, but an inspection of the assembly shows the pump motor has a different part number on it, and the fuel pump performs differently (riders report hearing a stronger sounding motor).
