I'm in the process of making my wrr some sort of black and blue plastics combination. I read somewhere but can no longer find it, what are my seat options? I like the black and grey X seat, but I have no idea on the cost of that. I guess I could also stain the blue on the seat black, but will that rub off on my pants or fade / wear away? I guess my real question should be what are the ways to get ride of the blue on the seat?

Seems to me that your seat options have nothing to do with what is out there for the stock seat because that one sucks. There are some acceptable options and with them you can have it any way you like (kinda like Alice's Restaraunt) but they are pricey.

Can the logo on that come off without destroying cover?

I don't know the answer to that one. That photo is blurry, hard to tell what the logo is made of.

poser2 That's how you know it's one of Forest's pics.

I think I read on another forum that the logo can be removed. But don't take my word for it. Ask Forest at Wheeling Cycle.

I put on a Corbin seat soon after getting my wrr. It looks better being all black and it's way more comfortable than the stock seat.

If you like the stock seat, and you just want it to be black, then take it to a local upholster. Any auto upholstery place can recover it in a day or two for around $50. Not a big deal, just get a marine grade vinyl and your all set.

I'm having Rick Mayer in California do me one of these (for longer trips); will keep the stocker for shorter, more dirt-oriented trips...

I've been toying with letting him mod the seat. Let us know how it goes. What was his lead time?

I think they're backed up a bit right now. They told me about three weeks and are supposed to let me know a firm date in the next few days.

He did a great seat for my 03 Dakar, but unfortunately it was totaled before I really got to take it on any long rides. 200 miles on it though felt like once around the block.

Communications with Mayer's shop can be spotty at times, but his work is top notch IMO. At least on the saddle he did for me:

I bought a take-off seat from a guy who'd put a Corbin on his WR-R and I'm having him to drop ship it direct to Mayer for the build. That way I won't have to be without the bike (my only at present) during the build period and I'll have the stocker for day rides when I don't need the ass wings.
