I am in the market for a new tire wondering if anybody has but a 130/90-18 on the rear? I didnt know if there would be better then the stock 120/80-18 size.

Thats funny because I was sitting here tossing the idea of putting the BIG sexy on there!! I would like some feedback on this as well. 130 sounds good and maybe better on the tarmac in corners.

It seems to me if you put a 130/90 on it's not only taller (which makes final gearing taller), but it will weigh more.
I figure Yamaha had engineers figuring what would be the best tire size to put on this particular bike. From there you can weigh your use of the bike and through research and experimenting come up with what's best for you locale and style of riding.

The 130/90 will fit but bigger isnt better. A big tire robs power, raises the rear of the bike, raises the gearing and makes the front tire push in corners. Stick with the small 100/100 or 120/80 rears the bike works better.

what he said...even a 110 on the rear is better with some tires like the D606 and MT21. You'll be sorry if you go a 130.
