| I'm thinking mine, like others, will end up with a FMF Q4. No way I'd put anything louder on there. Since money is an object, I'll do the aluminum/stainless and not the Ti and no header (they do make a powerbomb header for it). I figure the muffler, opening the airbox a bit, and a power programmer should do the trick. Or, thinking about doing the gearing change, first, as that might give a little extra scoot so I can delay the exhaust and other mods. Powerbomb Header: | |

| If someone out their would donate their old stock pipe well not the pipe just the portion between the header and muffler, cut the muffler off, would like to go mad scientist with the exup valve but would prefer my bike to stay in working order I will pay shipping plus a small cut up charge if needed. Thanks a bunch. | |

| I am currently playing with maps for a power commander and a stock exhaust. So far, the power commander is a plus but the maximum benefit will be an exhaust. I will likely do the Q4 slip-on first as the financial aspect is "krazy", I am not used to spending 600 + for an exhaust on a single banger motorcycle, or any bike. | |

| I hear you. It'll cost me close to $800 if not more just for the can and the programmer. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

I am not sure if you can get the online deals, PC are $272, and the FMF slip on's that used to be ?$ went to $318. The FMF programmer seems to be about $224 currently. We don't seem to have many choices for a can, ALL but the Q4 and power core seem more directed to the "X" models. Too bulky for an offroad bike, we keep looking and hope the prices drop a bit. (they went up instead)

(they went up instead) This is where I got my fmf programmer. Best price I've found. They have great service too. http://www.oemcycle.com/Item/product/4979/

| Definitely interested in an exhaust. It would be nice to lose the some weight from the stock unit, but I hesitate as I'm sure will get fallen on at some point. Also, like She Wolf says, up here in Canuckistan they're really pricey.
Thanks for the post of the different options. Has anyone weighed their new muffler? If so, please post up what you put on and what it weighs. It would be nice if we could get a list of weights going.

| On paper... here's the comparison between Delta Barrel4 and stock
End can: Stock: 4.8KG Barrel4: 2.1KG
Header: Stock: 1.19KG Torq header: 0.775KG
So weight saving=(4.8+1.19)-(2.1+0.775)=3.115KG

| That's what were talking about. I've done some research too but it's hard to find much consistent information. Here's some. Leo Vince web site: X3 Enduro Aluminum 2.74 lbs weight savings list price: $409 From derangedhermit at TT: Muffler, midpipe, EXUP valve and cables...............180 oz (11 lb 4 oz) +/- 16 oz FMF Powercore 4 muffler w/ spark arrestor.........79 oz (4 lb 15 oz) FMF Powerbomb header w/ mounting flange....... 22 oz (1 lb 6 oz) The FMF site itself doesn't really have any information. They don't even have a real spec on the noise level. | |

| The Dr.D slip on is not listed on there web site and if you looking into buying one you must call. They have it listed under the WR250X only. The part number is 2003 | |

| I've searched and read a lot of posts on TT and ADV about this and couldnt find a definitive answer, so I was hoping somebody here could help me. Here goes...I am thinking about adding the Q4, powerbomb, and FMF programer in the near future and want to know if I would see any improvements if all I did was remove the AIS and leave everything else stock. I'm not racer, and I'm not trying to get the highest performance possible out of the bike. I am looking to improve the overall performance of the bike and make it a better ride for me on the trails and roads. What if I didn't do the Powerbomb? What kind of difference would that make? I've seen all the dyno charts, and there are impressive gains to be made, but I am not interested in removing everything or cutting up anything at this point. Weight is also not an issue for me either. Thanks for any advice and input. | |
