Handlebar or peg problem? Empty
PostSubject: Handlebar or peg problem?   Handlebar or peg problem? EmptyTue Nov 05, 2013 6:35 pm

Ive decided that when standing I really need the distance between the pegs and the handlebars to be farther apart. It feels like engine breaking alone will throw me over the handlebars, and my arms pump up on acceleration because I feel like I am hanging on for dear life. Not sure if that makes sense or not.

Ive owned 3 dirtbikes in my life and they have all been stock, never any ergonomics issues so I don't really know where to begin. Any suggestions? Do I try to move the pegs back? Handlebar forward?

Not much info to go on here but, with a bit of searching, you will see that many of us have raised, or replaced our handlebars higher in order to have more control (ie attach position) when standing. If your elbows are not bent then your bars are probably too low. Options for you include purchasing handlebar risers (really just spacers for the mounts), or higher bars such as Pro-Taper high ATV bend (just to give an example).

Rox (rotatable) Risers will allow you to gain height without the handlebar also coming back, in the process...thus regaining the distance between the seat and bar lost by conventional risers.  Every little bit helps if you're tall and trying to fit the bike better.

Check into some custom pegs from the czech republic in vender deals section. Little lower and a little back feels a lot better to me now when standing. The fabrication is top notch too.
