IMS 3 gal. Gas tank question

Hello, hope this is right section to ask this. Maybe mods section?

Just installed IMS 3 gal. Tank. Works great so far... Question is...

When the fuel light comes on, is there the same amount of gas left in reserve as stock. (.5 us gal i think? maybe less for CA model?) Or different amount because of IMS shape and depth in relation to fuel pump?

I guess I'm assuming some sensor on the fuel pump tells the fuel light to go on?

I Searched and didn't see anything on this and nothing mentioned in IMS instructions... Of course that may be cause its a stupid question! Lol. Thanks for any input. I guess I can call IMS if nobody knows
