| Are these bolts ok with this aftermarket sprocket? Not sure if bolts are stock or aftermarket. The sprocket is beveled and the bolts are flat. Go Gators!! | |

| You have two options... Buy tapered bolts. Flip the sprocket over so the holes arent tapered, no one ever does this and its just that easy problem solved lol. | |

But just for the sake of argument, it seems to me if you turn the sprocket over the flat nuts on the other side are now sitting in a tapered hole. | |

| The nuts go on the back side of the hub lol. If you had them on the side of the sprocket with tapered holes the sprocket wouldnt be bolted to anything lol.
Its a good idea to buy new sprocket bolts with every new sprocket anyway, they come loose sometimes when reused and destroy the hub. | |

| Can the sprocket be flipped over? Yes. But there's still only a small portion of the sprocket "meat" in contact with the bolt. The tapered bolt puts a lot of contact area into play between the bolt and sprocket. Less chance of the holes elongating over time, which might happen when using standard non-tapered bolts in tapered holes. Even with the sprocket flipped around. Can you do it? Sure. Should you? I wouldn't. | I recommend also using Loctite blue or red on the bolts as well. Last year I was the unfortunately recipient of a hub failure - after a few bolts backed out of the hub - out in the middle of nowhere while riding with some other riders . I had replaced the rear sprocket and bolts the previous year. What is funny is about a month before the failure, I was at a gathering where a fellow rider (and mechanic) cautioned me about being careful about rear sprocket issues due to a lack of a cush drive with the WR. I've since replaced the hub and sprocket and have applied Loctite blue to each bolt. I am now more vigilant about checking the sprocket bolts each time I go for a ride.

| ^^ EDIT ** Was just going to post about how the previously mentioned "Hub Saver" bolt set is also great as the new bolts come with thread lock already applied........but then just checked them on the above link supplied by DragonNester, and there is a note at the bottom of the product description that says "bolts no longer supplied with thread lock" Anyway must be a very recent thing as the set i purchased only a few months ago had the thead lock applied. I also then further purchaced a second spare set as i was very happy with the quality & fit of the 1st set -and they too have the locktite on the threads. Anyway easy enough to apply some locktite yourself i suppose, but it was a great feature to have it already there as it's such a clean & simple process.....Still a very good sprocket bolt set regardless. | I dont reuse sprocket bolts at all on my bikes anymore. When I buy a new sprocket I get a bolt kit too, all the local dealers stock them, the same bolt kit fits most every dirt bike. I also red lock tight the head of the bolt so its lock tighted to the sprocket too. I seen a couple of guys destroy hubs on ktms when they reused the sprocket bolts. I had them come loose on my last bike but caught them before they did any damage.

| Agreed on above in relation to NOT re-using the sprocket bolts......and really for the very small cost of a new set, it's almost criminal not to replace them, | |
