Brake light stays on after handguard install

Just last week my Acerbis Rally Pro Handguards arrived. Needles to say, no more work was done during the day and I went ahead straight away to install them.

Here's a picture of the complete package (excuse my messy desk ). Even got a can of energy drink with it! (got them 10% off retail price )



Anyway install was smooth and easy. The problem now is that the brake lever makes contact with the guard, and this causes the brake light to stay on... (even though the actual screw is not making contacts itself). My only guess is that the aluminium support is short-circuiting the system?? although the alu support is covered in what looks like a couple mm of plastic.


Did other people experience this problem? what are your suggestions to solve this?

(other than cutting the lever, don't really want to do that...)

You need to move the lever perch inward if possible, or put a shorty lever on it. (3rd option is chop the ball off & file the cut end round, but that's frowned upon by many).

SOP with bark busters on most bikes.

I had this problem to, I moved my perch some inward and don't have the problem any more.

Who makes a Shorty lever for WR?

Moving the perch was the quickest and easiest solution for me. Just a mm was enough.
