Q4 melting turn signal!? Empty
PostSubject: Q4 melting turn signal!?   Q4 melting turn signal!? EmptyMon Apr 15, 2013 10:14 am

I just installed my q4 and powerbomb thursday... wings

Rode to work friday and cruised around after work for a while... thumb

Go out to the garage to ride saturday afternoon and noticed the black plastic on the factory turn signal was melted!!! eeek

Anybody else have this issue? Not really a big deal since turn signals aren't required in TX, just curious.

See pics on bottom of page 1 : here

I shortened stalks and used an "L" bracket I found laying around for mine.

I have stock signals and a Q4 - no melting.

I view turn signals as safety equipment.
Why they wouldn't be required is truly fuzzy logic to me, and quite dangerous IMHO.

You have the drc, correct? I would think it would have the signals mounted in a different location than with the factory tail? (I have the ugly factory tail)

The "logic" is that if turn signals aren't used, hand signals must be used.

Right. I forgot about the "whale tail"....you need to ditch that crap. Very happy

One handed braking and turning on a motorcycle.... no "logic" there..... :nono:

It will be ditched soon enough for the drc and 12 o'clock upgrade.

I agree, but I would be lying if I said I never made a turn or braked with one hand. Many people would say we don't have much logic for riding motorcycles in the first place.

True.

My concern in my area is getting run over from behind or having a car pull out in front of me.

So having both hands on bars for (hopefully) emergency evasion tactics seems more prudent.

I'm sure it's wishful thinking, but I'm truly hoping a blinking light draws attention to me....
